Might I suggest you add a bit or blur or diffraction/distortion (if possible with the software you are using) to the transparent bit.
Also if you have more time the shadows should be lighter in the center going darker towards the edges (If you look at a plastic/glass bottle it does this, probably something to do with the light being bounced of the curved edges but going straight through the middle. This would take a long time though as the shadow tendrils would have to be done overlapping (although some nearer the transparent bit already are). Otherwise try increasing their blur on the shadows slightly.
